Fraser Valley's talented group of teachers and staff promotes inquiry, creativity, initiative and quality in everything they ask of their students. Small class sizes (16-18 students per class) allow teachers to build meaningful relationships that are so important to a child's well-being and achievement.

Mrs. Lindsay Roberts (Principal – Grade 1)
Since returning to Canada seven years ago, Mrs. Roberts has lived, with her family and assorted animals, in Abbotsford. “As a teacher I choose the Fraser Valley for its young demographic but little did I know I would be a Principal as such a nice school as FVES.” When not working on her Masters Degree, Mrs. Roberts spends her time kayaking, gardening and quilting. During longer holidays, she moves into her lovely log house in the Caribou.
Mrs. Roberts earned her teaching degree in Swansea, Wales and worked there before coming back to British Columbia. She considers Canada home and is grateful for the opportunities it has given not only herself but also her family. She is a keen supporter of the International Baccalaureate and choose an IB school for her son.

Mrs. Hilary Churton (Kindergarten)
Mrs. Churton taught for more than 25 years in England gaining extensive teaching experience with children of various ages as classroom teacher and art specialist. She also trained with the Dyslexia Institute and taught children with specific learning difficulties in her spare time. Mrs. Churton taught Kindergarten children in Pitt Meadows where she trained and gained experience in the I.B. Primary Years Programme, before joining Fraser Valley Elementary in 2010.
“My experience working with the I.B. Primary Years Programme enables me to implement a hands-on, inquiry-based approach. I strive to provide a warm, caring and inclusive learning environment, in which students feel important as individuals, safe to express their creativity, intrinsically motivated to pursue learning, and challenged at a level that is appropriate for them.
Fulfilling a life-long ambition, I moved to Canada five years ago with my husband and our two children. Last year our family grew by one more - an adorable Maltese terrier. My love for travel and learning has led me across the Atlantic to the Fraser Valley where, on a daily basis, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to live in such a wonderful part of the world, to work in a growing, thriving and friendly school community, and to be greeted by such bright and eager faces every morning.”

Mrs. Christie Fox (Grade 2/3)
Mrs. Fox grew up in Maple Ridge, BC before moving to Dickinson, North Dakota to attend university on a softball scholarship. She graduated from Dickinson State University with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education and physical education, and also worked as the school's assistant softball coach her last year of school. She always said she wanted to teach grade 2 and she is very lucky to have her grade 2's this year!
Christie comes to Fraser Valley Elementary after teaching in both public schools and private schools, primarily as a science and physical education teacher. She is very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of F.V.E.S. and be able to watch the school grow.
Ms. Fox has a 3 year old daughter and also two stepchildren who are 5 and 7 years old.
